MONTANA TAGS AND LICENSES FOR 2010

The costs of non-resident big game combo license are $1,250.00.  This gives you a conservation license (which in Montana is your hunting license) a deer ”A” tag, an elk tag, fishing license, and uplandgame bird license.  This license is guaranteed – no draw – when you book a hunt with a Montana outfitter….as long as you have the application into the licensing department at the fish, wildlife and parks by March 15.  You may also get an “elk only” license in the outfitter sponsored category for $995.00 or a deer “A” outfitter sponsored tag for $995.00 Remember, all of these tags must be received at the licensing department by March 15 to be guaranteed.  If they do not have any licenses left after that date, they will sell them at a first come, first served basis until the target number is completely sold out.  Big horn sheep, moose, and mountain goat are on drawing and the application must be in by May 1.  The cost for them is $755.00 for each specie.  If you are not drawn, they will refund the majority of the fee keeping a small amount to cover the costs of the drawing process.  The non-resident bear tag costs $350.00.  For the spring bear season the tag must be purchased before April 15^th.  And for the Fall Bear season the tags must be purchased before August 31^st.  Black Bear tags are purchased “over the counter” (or by mail) and must be purchased before August 31.
